Classroom academy

Classroom Academy is a paid two-year residency pathway into teaching, with residents earning $22,000 per year.  Matched and placed with an expert, lead teacher, residents spend the 2 years embedded in a classroom applying graduate-level learning from one of the partner graduate-level teacher preparation programs (including SUNY Plattsburgh @ Queensbury, SUNY Empire, and Sage Colleges).

Classroom Academy is also the first registered NYS Apprenticeship for teacher preparation through the Department of Labor (DOL). Under this designation, completers receive an additional DOL credential evidencing experience. In addition to the stipend, participants may also be eligible for tuition assistance.
